Notes Louis Hotteterre (b. La-Couture Busy, 1647; d. Ivry, 1716) was a member of a French family of woodwind instrument makers, instrumentalists and composers. He worked with his father the eldest Nicolas (d. 1693) and younger brother Nicolas (ii) as an instrument maker in Paris where he occupied the post of saquebout et basse de violon de la chambre et grande Ecurie du Roi between 1665 and 1714.
