Instrument of Torture or Instrument of Music?
by Nicholas S. Lander
There are societies devoted to the recorder and early music in many
large cities of the world whose activities variously include group
playing, talks, examinations, concerts, workshops and residential
schools of direct interest to recorder players. Many produce
newsletters and journals. Some maintain libraries of scores and instruments for hire.
This is an interactive database of recorder societies and other organisations of relevance to devotees of the recorder. Inevitably, some of the contact details are likely to be outdated; in some cases they are unknown. I would very much appreciate any corrections or additions you think necessary. I may be contacted by email.
