Recorder Choir and Consort Music
Arrangements, transcriptions and compositionsINTRODUCTION
I have arranged and written music for recorder ensembles for many years, over thirty, to put a number on it. For many of those years I played with, 440 Five, a New Zealand consort with a tremendous appetite for good music. Now (in Australia) I continue to arrange music for a wide variety of groups.
The catalogue here is continuing to grow and is not complete. Further more, I like to arrange for specific groups and enjoying providing pieces that enthuse consorts or choirs and, in many instances, also give them an opportunity to play music that is not usually associated with recorders. For example, in recent years, I have arranged a lot Classical music, Mozart, Haydn and some Beethoven.
In my music I tend away from expression marks such as phrasing and articulation because I believe that they point to essential elements of music that are very much matters of individual taste.
